Johor Uses Metal Detectors at SPM Examination Centres

Johor has now started implementing the use of metal detectors at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination centres in the state. This move is in an effort to further strengthen the integrity, security and ensure the smooth running of examinations in the state.

This also ensures that students do not bring any prohibited equipment to the examination hall – let alone electronic devices. Indirectly, scanning using metal detectors before entering the examination hall also reduces the risk of violating examination regulations.

In Johor, a total of 49,654 candidates took the SPM 2025 this year, through 372 examination centres. The metal detectors were provided by the State Education Department.

Also touching on this, it is said that these metal detectors can also be expanded for daily use in schools, but this matter needs further discussion.
