Leica Q3 Monochrom With 60MP Sensor Launched At RM34,990

The Leica Q3 Monochrom camera was launched yesterday, holding the status of the most expensive monochrome digital camera on the market. It is equipped with a 60MP BSI CMOS monochrome full-frame sensor that supports ISO up to 200,000. This is an improvement over the Q2 Monochrom which was launched in 2020 with a 47MP sensor. The camera lens is a Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH.

Photos can be taken at 60MP, 36MP or 18MP settings at up to 15 FPS. Meanwhile, video recording is 8K 30p or 4K 60p with Apple ProRes 422 support. This camera is the first in the Q series to support the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) system which ensures the authenticity of the captured images can be verified.

A 5.76 million dot OLED viewfinder is paired with a 3″ LCD screen that can be adjusted. Meanwhile, the camera body passes the IP52 waterproof and dustproof standards. In Malaysia, the Leica Q3 Monochrom is sold at a price of RM34,990, which is much more expensive than the Q2 Monochrom which was previously sold at a price of RM26,850.
