Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park Now Has Over 200 Researchers And Engineers, Will Reach 400 By End 2026



Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park is a semiconductor technology development hub that has been operating since August 2024 at the Puchong Financial Corporate Center and has recently opened a second location in Cyberjaya for academic purposes and training future semiconductor technology engineers and researchers.


Developed by Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), the semiconductor hub located at the Puchong Financial Corporate Center is now home to 14 local semiconductor technology development companies that include over 200 local semiconductor technology researchers and engineers.


These companies include MaiStorage, Infinecs, Tenasic Technology, Skyechip, Cortical Labs, Oppstar, Weeroc Space, WyseTime, Synopsys, Intelligent Circuit Engineering, JumpWin, Alphaswift, FirstChip and Chip Inventor which develop various types of semiconductor-related technologies, from memory, storage, IoT-related device equipment, drones, cameras and so on.


Meanwhile, with the opening of a new branch of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park in Cyberjaya, Sidec is also collaborating with local higher education institutions for technical and industrial training for final year students and graduates to gain industry experience before entering the world of work.


Sidec also said that by the end of 2026, the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park will house 400 semiconductor chip researchers and engineers at its main hub in Puchong.
