Qualcomm's latest update confirms that the launch event for the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip will take place in China on November 26, 2025. Previously, the chip was teased during the launch in Hawaii and now Qualcomm is ready to introduce its new generation of processing to everyone.
Based on its naming, this new chip is expected to come as a flagship with slightly reduced power compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It is also a potential successor to the 8s series which was previously seen as somewhat confusing in terms of its position in the Qualcomm chip lineup.
Qualcomm previously confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be built using a 3nm process and will come with an Oryon CPU core. Apart from that, the information that has gone viral also reveals that this chip will use the Adreno 840, which is a GPU based on the same IP as the Elite version but with slightly lower performance.
