Meta Reportedly Will Use Google Chips for AI

Meta is currently reportedly in discussions with Google, and wants to spend billions of ringgit to use chips produced by Google in their data centers. Meta aims to use these Google chips starting in 2027.

This move simultaneously positions Google as a competitor to NVIDIA in the semiconductor arena, as well as showing the possibility of other AI companies also using Google chips.

In addition to using Google chips, Meta is also said to want to rent chips through Google Cloud as early as 2026.

Google today uses TPUs for various tasks involving artificial intelligence. Until now, Google has only used them in their data centers and offerings, but with this move, it is seen as allowing Google to also separate them as another operating unit, and generate revenue through them.

For now, Google and Meta have not issued any comments on this matter. However, if this matter is announced in the near future, it is expected to have a high impact on NVIDIA, which is ready to dominate the market.
