The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has already caused thousands of people to lose their jobs, especially at major technology companies. Repetitive and boring tasks are now being taken over by AI agents who do them without complaining or stopping. With billions of AI agents predicted to be in use by the 2030s, a local control system will need to be used by employers to manage their “AI staff”.
Microsoft launched Agent 365 today as a framework used to manage multiple AI agents locally. It helps companies deploy and control AI agents with telemetry features and notifications if any issues occur.
Users need to register agents with Microsoft Entra to ensure that agents are not misused to carry out cyber attacks on other companies or organizations. At this point, Agent 365 supports AI agents that have been developed by Adobe, Databricks, Cognition, Genspark, Glean, Kasisto, Manus, NVIDIA, SAP, Workday and many more. It is currently in the early testing phase for use by IT administrators.
