Microsoft Will Speed Up File Explorer Activation Soon

According to Microsoft, one of the complaints they receive is regarding the File Explorer software that houses access to files and also various settings functions for the Microsoft Windows operating system.

The complaints received are often seen regarding why the software is always slow to activate, such as it needs to load a lot of content before it can be used. In fact, sometimes scrolling through the software is also slow.

To fix this issue, Microsoft said that they will introduce a new feature where File Explorer will always be active in the background of the operating system to ensure that it is always accessible faster and faster.

FileExplorer.exe and Explorer.exe are two different application processes, where File Explorer is a menu software for accessing files and settings on a computer. Explorer.exe is the process where menus such as the Taskbar, desktop and notifications need to be activated before it can be activated.

When it is introduced, File Explorer will apparently be enabled by default, and you can choose to turn this feature off via the File Explorer Options settings menu under the Views tab, by deactivating the “Enable window preloading for faster launch times” function.

Microsoft is also seen testing a number of other new features for File Explorer, and is expected to show them to Windows 11 users more widely later.
