Shell today announced the integration of BUDI95 through their official app. With this integration, the payment process becomes smoother as subsidies can be accessed directly through the app without requiring any manual steps at the pump. In addition, users have the opportunity to earn exclusive reward points that are offered, thus providing them with additional value.
How to Activate BUDI95 in the Shell App
For users who are using this app for the first time, the registration process must be done through the Shell Asia App which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store. Next, users need to go through several additional steps including registering a BonusLink card to complete access and full use.
If the user already has the card, it will be automatically linked to an existing account. In addition, the Touch ‘n Go eWallet application must be linked to the Shell App before the RON95 subsidy can be used. However, it should be noted that this link does not mean that TNG eWallet can be used to make petrol payments through the Shell App because the process is solely intended to verify identity and BUDI95 eligibility.
This is because some information from TNG such as account verification status, ID type, ID number and phone number will be shared with the Shell App. This situation is different from Setel which is self-contained and can perform eKYC directly through its application. However, according to Shell in a brief sharing a while ago, this situation occurs because TNG is their strategic partner. At the same time, they want to ensure that the link is more secure.
Before continuing the process, users will be asked to enter bank account information for payment transaction purposes. To do this, users need to press the Check BUDI95 button on the main screen and then select Continue on the Access BUDI95 display to start the link process.
Currently, the Shell App only supports the use of credit cards or debit cards for fuel payments. Although this application also supports Shell Card, the facility is however only offered to business customers. If this step has been done before, the application will then ask the user to open the TNG eWallet.
The next step is to enter the MyKad number and press the Proceed button. After that, enter the six-digit OTP code sent to the user's phone. Next, complete the facial recognition process, which can also be set later if needed. After the process is successful, the Authorisation Successful display will appear. At the same time, a temporary payment of RM1 will be deducted from the linked bank account.
BUDI95 Payment Method Via Shell App
The BUDI95 payment process via Shell App is very simple. First, users only need to press the Pay for Fuel button in the application. Next, confirm the security message, enter the pump number and select the amount of fuel while ensuring that the BUDI95 option has been activated. Once the payment is confirmed, the ‘Pump is Ready’ display will appear and at the same time the user is given about four minutes to fill the vehicle with petrol.
To check the BUDI95 balance, users only need to press the Check BUDI95 button again and then select View Balance. The BUDI Balance display will be shown which includes the subsidy balance, the number of litres that can still be redeemed and the remaining payment value for reference.
Using the Shell App to fill up BUDI95 petrol not only saves time but is also more user-friendly because all processes are done digitally. All processes, including BUDI95 subsidy verification, are carried out directly in the application, thus reducing the need for physical documents such as MyKad or manual interaction at the counter. At the same time, every payment is recorded in the Shell App for user reference.
