Globalstar is one of the popular satellite companies, where Apple also uses Globalstar services in offering satellite-based services – especially for emergency communications outside of WiFi and cellular networks. Recently, it was said that Globalstar is looking for a potential buyer to take over the company.
Several parties are ready to hold discussions, and Elon Musk's SpaceX is one of the potential buyers. As many know, SpaceX is also focused on offering services via satellite, including offering internet networks via satellite under the Starlink brand.
Apple is ready to have a 20% stake in Globalstar, and may also have the final say in any transaction involving Globalstar.
For now, both parties have not issued any comments, and there is a possibility that Globalstar will continue to remain independent and not be sold to anyone. It is estimated that the satellite company is worth around $10 billion.
