Digital billboards are something we can see everywhere in this modern era. Sometimes, there are some that run the Microsoft Windows operating system, and when there is an issue with the advertising software or computer used, we will be able to see issues such as BSOD or the Windows desktop displayed on the billboard.
During the ongoing Microsoft Ignite event in San Francisco, Microsoft has introduced a new mode for billboard computers that run the Windows 11 operating system, namely Digital Signage Mode.
In short, this mode will only show the Blue Screen of Death screen for 15 seconds to scan for the issue that has occurred, and will deactivate the screen while waiting for user input to manually restart the operating system.
Microsoft says that when this mode is introduced, it can be activated through the Recovery settings menu as a switch that can be set by the user if needed. It is also different from Kiosk Mode which was introduced for computer panels that come with interactive functions such as purchase and payment machines used in fast food restaurants.
