The year 1996 saw the birth of the Tomb Raider video game with the protagonist Lara Croft. The game's popularity was so global that three live-action films were produced, but now Lara Croft seems to have been forgotten. In conjunction with its 30th anniversary next year, two new games were announced this morning.
These two games are Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Amazon Game Studios. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of all the original Tomb Raider games. Players can control Lara Croft with her reusing the design of a turquoise blue shirt, shorts, small backpack and two pistols akimbo. This is the second remake of the original game after Tomb Raider: Anniversary, which was released in 2007.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst is a continuation of the Tomb Raider trilogy that ended in 2019. Lara's character looks older with her maintaining the trilogy's character and finally being able to use two pistols at once. Not much information has been shared about the story, but Tomb Raider: Catalyst will be released in 2027 while Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released in 2026.
