Cristiano Ronaldo, a soccer player who currently plays for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr soccer club, recently announced that he has invested in AI technology developer Perplexity and is now a shareholder in the company.
Perplexity is known for its Comet search engine service powered by various AI technologies such as Anthropic's Claude Sonnet and OpenAI's ChatGPT and recently came with a valuation of $20 billion after receiving a new investment of $200 million.
Ronaldo is said to be a previous user of Perplexity's services, using the platform to help write the acceptance speech for the Prestige Globe Award in October.
So far, the amount of investment made by Cristiano Ronaldo to hold shares in Perplexity is not known.
Meanwhile, a Perplexity x CR7 website has also been developed which shows the history of Cristiano Ronaldo's career as a football athlete from when he was a child, starting his career at the football clubs Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and now at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
