Apple Pay can now be used by Hong Leong Bank users, joining the list of several other banks such as AmBank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards), HSBC, Maybank (American Express, Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards), RHB Bank Berhad (Visa credit and debit cards), Standard Chartered Bank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards) and Wise Payments Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
According to the official Hong Leong website, all Visa cards issued by Hong Leong Bank (HLB) and Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB) can be used with Apple Pay except for HLB GSC Credit Cards (Gold & Platinum) and HLB debit card holders under the age of sixteen (16). Updates on the availability of HLB GSC Credit Card will be announced from time to time.
To use Apple Pay, users need to set up their iPhone by opening the Apple Wallet app > pressing the plus (+) button > selecting either Debit or Credit Card. Next, follow the on-screen instructions to add a new card.
After that, log in to your Hong Leong Bank account > select the desired card > activate Apple Pay. Finally, follow the on-screen instructions until complete and then Apple Pay is ready to use.
