The government introduced the BUDI95 petrol subsidy program two months ago where all Malaysians with a valid identity card and driving license can get RON95 petrol subsidy to use the petrol at a cheap subsidized price.
Recently, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has said that Malaysian vehicle owners who do not pay their JPJ summons by December 31, 2025 will lose their eligibility to use the petrol subsidy.
The BUDI95 subsidy is tied to a driving license, and if the JPJ system finds that the licensee has any outstanding JPJ summons, the petrol pump will say that you are not eligible to use the BUDI95 scheme when you scan your identity card.
You can use the MyJPJ application or go to websites such as MyEG to check if you have any outstanding JPJ summons and pay them before that date.
