Among high-performance car enthusiasts, the Lexus LFA is often crowned as the car with the most exotic engine sound. The roar of the 4.8 L V10 engine is a treat for automotive enthusiasts with its sound produced by the exhaust system tuned by Yamaha. Since its launch in 2009, it has been a loss for Toyota but its status as an opera symphony on four wheels has not yet been surpassed by other exotic vehicles.
Today, the LFA legacy continues after the Lexus LFA Concept was officially shown. Gone is the bone-shaking V10 engine as it is replaced by a fully electric powertrain paired with a battery pack. It was developed with three main focuses: a low center of gravity, light weight and a strong body.
The LFA Concept's frame is made entirely of aluminum with the body retaining the coupe design. There is no need for an exhaust so the three rear lights in a triangular arrangement are retained to maintain the original LFA design that is well known.
The interior of the cabin is minimalist with a yoke-type steering wheel and an instrument cluster all on the driver's side without a central screen for the infotainment system.
The Lexus LFA Concept is still just a concept so there is no information on the number of motors, battery capacity, performance targets and even the range that can be done.
