Manus announced that it has joined Meta early this morning. Manus is a Singapore-based company that develops artificial intelligence (AI) agents for use in research, automation and complex real-world tasks. The value that Meta paid for Manus was not disclosed by either company.
Last year, Manus generated $125 million in revenue, with its AI agents processing over 147 trillion tokens and generating 80 million virtual machines. Despite being acquired by Meta, the Manus team will remain based in Singapore. Existing customers will continue to use Manus services. Meta will integrate Manus agents into its services, such as Meta AI.
Manus is Meta’s latest investment in the AI sector this year, following its $14.3 billion investment to acquire a 49% stake in Scale AI in June. The CEO of Scale AI was later appointed to head Meta Superintelligence Labs, tasked with developing Meta’s future AI models, specifically to be the first to create artificial general intelligence (AGI).
