The Google Photos app will finally arrive on Samsung smart TVs running Tizen OS starting in 2026. In an announcement made this morning, Google Photos will automatically appear via Daily+ and Daily Board on smart TVs that support it.
In addition to the ability to access photos stored in Photos, Tizen OS users will also be able to access the Memories feature that displays stories based on places and individuals starting next March. Next, the Create with AI feature provides creative templates generated using the Gemini Nano Banana model allowing images to be reworked through the Remix feature and static images to be animated into videos.
Users can also personalize the display of images on the TV based on topics, content, and memories by location. This feature is expected to be available starting in H2 2026. According to Samsung, Google Photos support will only be available on Samsung smart TVs in 2026.
The question mark is whether it will also be offered to Google TV in the near future because until now this application cannot be downloaded on Google's own TV operating system.
