Meta's New AI Model May Not Be Offered in Open Source Form

Meta has previously offered its Llama language model in open source, allowing developers to use it in their own development, as well as offering prosperity to the artificial intelligence development arena. However, moving forward, Meta is expected to change the way they offer their AI models.

Following reports that Meta is developing the "Avocado" model, it is now also said that Meta will change its offering, and will no longer be offered in open source form.

According to the report, Meta is using several third-party models, including Google, Alibaba and OpenAI, to help train the Avocado model. With the licensing transition of this model, it also shows that Meta may charge additional fees to interested parties to access Meta AI services or models for enterprise use.

Meta has not yet issued any comments regarding this matter.
