In addition to announcing Project Aura, Google also announced several new Android XR features that can now be downloaded to the Samsung Galaxy XR. The announced features are PC Connect, Travel Mode and Your Likeness to add more dancing features to this first Android XR headset.
PC Connect allows the Galaxy XR to be used with a PC. The Windows interface can be used in XR mode as well as an additional screen to be more productive. Owners can also use this additional screen to run video games from a PC with a giant screen for a more immersive gaming session. In PC Connect, users can call Gemini to provide real-time game tips.
Next is Travel Mode which allows the Galaxy XR to be used while traveling, for example in the cabin of an airplane. The screen will remain static even if the user is moving.
Finally, is Your Likeness which uses a realistic 3D avatar as a substitute for yourself when making a Google Meet call through the Galaxy XR. This 3D avatar will follow your facial expressions and mouth movements when speaking.
All of these new features announced bring Android XR and Galaxy XR on par with the features already supported on the Apple Vision Pro. At this point, there is still no information on whether the Galaxy XR will be marketed to more countries, especially Malaysia.
