One of the complaints received from the public regarding the Sony PlayStation 5 gaming console series was regarding the cooling fluid (Thermal Interface Material) that often leaked out of the CPU when the console was always used in a vertical position.
After receiving a number of these complaints, Sony seems to have updated the cooling system for all existing PlayStation 5 console offerings, including the PlayStation 5 Pro and PlayStation 5 Slim to ensure that the same incident does not happen again.
This was discovered by Modyfikator, a Polish YouTuber who purchased and dissected the latest PlayStation 5 models and discovered that the CPU cooling block has been modified to not only dissipate heat from the component more efficiently, but also ensure that the metal fluid that helps in heat dissipation no longer leaks into the cracks of the motherboard and damages the console.
This update is said to be something that is done quietly, but in his opinion and that of others, this is probably a change that has been made for all consoles sold globally.
If you're still on the fence about buying a PlayStation 5 console, now might be the perfect time to get one, with this all-new cooling system update.
