With less than a month left before the end of the electric car tax benefits in Malaysia, more and more electric cars are being launched at prices that are not too expensive. Today, Stellantis Malaysia through the Leapmotor brand has launched their second electric car for the local market, the Leapmotor B10.
The Leapmotor B10 is a C-segment SUV, the second model they offer after the Leapmotor C10 which was first sold in 2024. With a design almost the same as the C10, only smaller, with a storage space of 430L that can be expanded to 1700L, has a front frunk storage space of 25L, and comes in two versions, namely the B10 Life and the D10 Design. The difference between the two is in the battery capacity which also affects the travel distance.
The Leapmotor B10 Life has a 56.2 kWh battery with a range of 361 km WLTP, while the B10 Design has a 67.1 kWh battery with a range of 434 km WLTP. The DC fast charging offered is also different, at 140 kW for the B10 Life and 168 kW for the B10 Design, allowing both to be charged quickly from 30-80% in less than 20 minutes.
The similarities between the two are that they have an 11 kW AC charger, and have an electric motor that can provide 160 kW of power and 240Nm of torque, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. It has an 8.8-inch instrument screen display and a 14.6-inch infotainment screen powered by the Leap OS 4.0 system that will support wireless tethering of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The B10 Lepmotor, complete with Self-Driving Level 2, is priced at RM 107,800 for the B10 Life version, while the B10 Design is priced at RM 118,800. The first 200 buyers will receive a discount of RM 8,000 for the B10 Life version, while RM 9,000 for the B10 Design version. It also comes with a 6-year or 150,000KM mileage warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000-mile battery warranty.
