Tencent opened its newest office in Kuala Lumpur today. It replaced its previous office in Mid Valley at Menara 1 Sentrum in Brickfields. In a special ceremony held this morning, Tencent Malaysia’s office was officially opened by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
The office occupies two floors at Menara 1 Sentrum and can accommodate up to 500 staff. This is a sharp increase from the Mid Valley office which only accommodated up to 60 staff when it opened in 2017.
According to Tencent, around 90% of its staff in Malaysia are local workers with expertise in data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, operations and customer experience.
With the opening of their new office, Tencent will further double its collaboration with local companies and has plans to make Malaysia a regional hub for video game content production
