SarawakPass to be Integrated with MyDigital ID from 2026

The Sarawak Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government through the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) to integrate the state’s digital identity application, SarawakPass, with the national MyDigital ID system.

The ceremony was held at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Complex, with State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki signing on behalf of the state government, while Nacsa Chief Executive Officer Megat Zulhairy Megat Tajuddin signing on behalf of the agency. Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg was also present to witness the ceremony.

Sarawak Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi also emphasised that this MoU is an important achievement as it demonstrates the commitment to developing a more secure and comprehensive national digital identity ecosystem.

Through this integration, SarawakPass users can access various services that require MyDigital ID verification while MyDigital ID users can use SarawakPass services. The combined SarawakPass-MyDigital ID system is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2026.

SarawakPass was introduced this year as an enhanced version of SarawakID. Currently, more than 1.8 million users use SarawakPass as a space to access state government services faster and more user-friendly.

Meanwhile, MyDigital ID, which was implemented nationwide in 2023, has been used by nearly 6 million users in the public and private sectors as Malaysia's official digital identity platform.
