The Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch was also launched alongside two Xiaomi 17 Ultra models yesterday. This smartwatch comes with a 1.54″ AMOLED screen, 60Hz, sapphire glass and a thin bezel. This is matched with a 47 mm stainless steel body, Snapdragon W5 main chip, BES2800 secondary chip and 930 mAh battery.
The Snapdragon W5 chip is used for heavy tasks while the BES2800 chip is for light tasks such as health tracking systems. With this, the Watch 5 can last up to 18 days on a single charge or 7 days with the AOD screen and battery saving mode activated.
The watch is equipped with a heart rate tracking system, sleep tracking, GPS, blood oxygen, ECG and EMG sensors. The EMG sensor allows controls such as answering the phone or starting a workout session by making finger gestures without the wearer touching the screen. In addition, it can also be used to control Xiaomi’s camera and smart TV.
The operating system used is HyperOS 3 with a built-in XiaoAi virtual assistant. 4G network support is included via eSIM.
The watch body also passes the 5 ATM waterproof standard. The watch strap options are made of fluoroelastomer, leather and 3D printed titanium.
In China, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is sold at a starting price of RM 1,999 (~RM 1148) for the Bluetooth version and RMB 2,299 (~RM 1320) for the eSIM version.
