YouTube Deletes Two AI-Generated Fake Trailer Channels

AI is supposed to make your job easier, but the reality is that it is being used to generate AI garbage in the form of videos in bulk. Among the most infuriating AI garbage content are fake movie trailers that don’t exist or have just been announced by studios. As a result, viewers are fooled by the trailers they produce.

Yesterday, YouTube suddenly deleted Screen Culture and KH Studio, two channels whose content consisted of fake AI-generated trailers. This was a surprising move because these two channels have over 2 million followers on YouTube.

Earlier this year, Screen Culture and KH Studio were blocked from generating revenue through advertising and were then reinstated after the channels were labeled as parodies. YouTube said the channels were deleted after violating its terms and conditions regarding spam and the use of opaque metadata.

But there is a theory that the channels were deleted to comply with Disney’s order to stop Google from generating their intellectual property using AI. Both channels are fond of generating fake trailers using Disney’s IP. Disney issued a cease and desist notice to Google after they entered into an exclusive agreement with OpenAI to generate through Sora.
