In a surprise move, Astro has now announced via its official website that it will stop new sales and customer registration for Astro Fibre effective 1 February 2026, until a later date. Astro said this move was taken after conducting a strategic review of their business.
Astro stressed that for existing customers and those who registered before 1 February 2026, they will continue to offer full services, including customer service support as usual.
With this move, it is not known whether Astro will return to the broadband internet business or vice versa. Previously, Astro offered internet subscription bundles and also their content access at prices starting at RM139.99 per month for 500Mbps internet with content bundles.
