Manus was recently acquired by Meta for over $2 billion. The acquisition is expected to give Meta access to the enterprise market that Manus already owns, as well as its AI agent technology.
For your information, this is not the first time that Manus has received an acquisition offer. In early 2024, Bytedance, the parent company behind TikTok, tried to acquire the company for around $30 million. For your information, at that time, Manus was still underdeveloped, and the company itself was still in its early stages.
However, that did not happen, and the company behind Manus itself aims to compete globally rather than in China.
In any case, Bytedance currently has its own offering called Doubau in China, in addition to experimenting with several different products for the global market under the AI chatbot category.
