Until now, users of ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence service have not been presented with any ads, regardless of whether they are free or paid users.
However, OpenAI recently announced that two levels of ChatGPT service users will begin seeing ads in the coming weeks. This includes free ChatGPT users and those who subscribe to the paid ChatGPT Go account.
Digital and online advertising typically tracks your internet usage to provide you with ads that are more relevant to your usage patterns, but OpenAI says that the ads that will be served to users will not be influenced by the user’s usage patterns through the ChatGPT service.
OpenAI also says that they will not track the use of the service, and users can choose to reset the data collected at any time when this advertising function is introduced.
If you are a free account or ChatGPT Go user, you can choose to get a Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise subscription if you do not want to see ads. The local ChatGPT subscription website has been updated to reflect this new update.
