CIMB – SecureTAC Biometric Approval Required for Selected Online Transactions



CIMB is now requiring SecureTAC approval for selected transactions on CIMB Clicks and merchant websites. Users can approve these transactions via the CIMB OCTO App by choosing biometric authentication using Face ID or fingerprint, device passcode or app password.


If the facial or fingerprint recognition function is enabled, users need to send a transaction request, then receive a notification via the CIMB OCTO App, tap SecureTAC, review the transaction details and approve using biometric authentication. If this biometric function is not enabled or fails, the steps are still the same but authentication can be done via an app code or password. Once the identity is verified, the transaction will be approved.


Earlier, Maybank also implemented biometric authentication for Secure2u approval on the MAE app to enhance online banking security and prevent unauthorized transactions.
