Instagram is now ready to display the number of followers you follow and your followers on your profile page. Interestingly, in addition to the display, Instagram is also reportedly testing a new count display on profiles, called “Friends”.
Under “Friends”, Instagram defines it as the number of users who follow each other. This change may indirectly have an impact on users, and some may optimize the accounts they follow in the future.
Instagram is currently conducting this test on a limited basis, and wants to understand user reactions first.
It seems that with more artificial intelligence-generated content, including related accounts, coming to Instagram, this rebranding move will make the platform appear more human than others.
