Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus Seen Far Beyond Previous Generation Processor Chips

We recently revealed some details and benchmark scores of Intel's latest and most powerful Arrow Lake Refresh processor chip, the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, through GeekBench benchmarks that were not fully tested.

But through it, we know that this processor chip will come with the same physical core offering as its predecessor, the Intel Core Ultra 285HX, which is 24 physical cores and power threads.

Recently, the performance of the processor chip has been somewhat shown through the PassMark benchmarks that gave it a high CPU Mark score of 66203 which is almost 13 percent higher than the Intel Core Ultra 285HX which showed a score of 57752.

The laptop used is an MSI laptop that is also loaded with 32GB of Samsung LPDDR5 memory and also houses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card for laptops.

This shows that while the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 “Panther Lake” processor series is the main focus of Intel at CES 2029, the Arrow Lake Refresh update could also be seen as another branch of Intel’s powerful processor series for consumers before the next-generation Intel Core Ultra “Nova Lake” processor series is shown off later this year.

The Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chip series is expected to launch at the end of this month, while the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 “Arrow Lake Refresh” processor series will arrive around March or April.
