The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 was announced as a chip for affordable entry-level 5G devices. It is manufactured using 6nm technology and therefore offers a 5% increase in power consumption, a 23% increase in modem efficiency and a 16% increase in video playback efficiency compared to the Dimensity 7050 chip.
The Dimensity 7100 is equipped with an eight-core CPU with a configuration of 4X Cortex-A78 2.4 GHz and 4X Cortex-A55 2.0 GHz paired with an Arm Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. In terms of graphics capabilities, the Dimensity 7100 only offers an 8% increase compared to the Dimensity 7050. The chip supports LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage
The camera is up to 200MP with the ability to shoot HDR video. The 5G modem used can provide download capabilities of up to 3.3 Gbps. In addition, it supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC systems. The first device to use this chip is the Infinix Note EDGE.
