Last week, we reported via Reuters that NVIDIA would begin requiring full payment for its NVIDIA H200 AI processing chips before they are shipped to them.
NVIDIA has apparently issued a statement regarding the report, saying that it is inaccurate. NVIDIA typically requires companies to make an upfront payment or deposit for each purchase of its components.
However, with trade laws between the United States now seen as increasingly strict, NVIDIA has also begun tightening the requirement to pay this advance payment in advance before the products are shipped to companies in China, and this is specific to the purchase of its NVIDIA H200 AI processing chips only.
This is quite different from the initial report which said that companies in that country would have to pay for their purchases in full before they are shipped to them.
