Google Photos Tests Video Playback Feature at Up to 2X Speed

Google Photos is reportedly developing a new feature that will allow users to adjust the playback speed of videos similar to the function found on YouTube. The speed options available range from 0.25x to 2X and can be accessed via the three-dot menu at the top right while the video is playing. When this feature is launched, users will be able to choose the playback speed that best suits their needs.

In addition, Google Photos is testing a new function called ‘Show dates in Grid’, which is a feature that allows users to control the display of dates on the image grid. With this function, users can enjoy a neater grid view without date labels. However, users cannot select photos and videos in bulk based on a specific date.

Both these features are still in the testing phase and their official launch date has not been confirmed.
