The Redmi Turbo 5 was launched yesterday as the first device with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip and is an attractive choice because it comes with balanced internal hardware performance.
The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen (2756 x 1268 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. It uses a metal frame with a glass rear panel and a vertical camera bump that looks premium in its design.
This device is combined with a MediaTek 8500-Ultra chip with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. It also uses the same 3D cooling system as Xiaomi's flagship model, while a new engine called 'Rampage Engine' works to stabilize the performance of the CPU, GPU and DDR when the device is used intensively.
The 7,560mAh battery supports 100W wired and 27W wireless charging, while the water and dust resistance level exceeds IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K protection. In addition, the device also supports wireless connections up to a kilometer away while being able to provide smoother integration with Apple devices as well as cross-platform file sharing and notifications.
The camera setup on the Redmi Turbo 5 consists of a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 20MP selfie. The selling price starts at RMB1,999 (~RM1,133) for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the highest model is offered at RMB2,599 (~RM1,473).
