Steam Machine Verified Minimum Requirements Reportedly Not as Strict as Steam Deck

A few months ago, Valve introduced its latest PC gaming console called the Steam Machine, along with an updated Steam Controller and a Steam Frame virtual reality accessory.

The Steam Machine is expected to launch this year, and what we do know about the console is that it will run on the SteamOS operating system, and like the Steam Deck console, will need to go through verification to ensure that it can be played on the Steam Machine.

As such, Valve is reportedly introducing Steam Machine Verified, a type of verification used to verify that a PC game can be played on the Steam Machine without any issues.

To make the verification process easier, Valve seems to be saying that developers who want to certify their games as Steam Machine Verified will be able to do so more easily, as the minimum specifications required to play the game on the console will not be as strict.

As a quick introduction, all PC games that already come with Steam Deck Verified certification have already passed Steam Machine Verified certification. This means that the Steam Machine will come with a large number of games that can continue to be played on the console without any issues.

At this time, Valve has not yet confirmed when the console will go on sale, nor its price tag.
