WhatsApp Shares More on How to Use Secondary Accounts for Parental Controls

WhatsApp has previously announced a new feature that is being developed to help parents manage secondary accounts through primary controls. Recently, they have also shared more clearly how this function will be provided.

For your information, this secondary account is a profile with limited functions specifically set for children. If the user has not reached the minimum age allowed, they will need to ask their parents to set up this account. This secondary account will also prevent children from sending or receiving messages and calls from unknown contacts. In addition, parents will receive reports of certain activities, for example when the child adds a new contact.

The setup process begins with parents scanning the QR code provided. After that, they need to create a six-digit PIN. This PIN serves to control certain actions and prevent the child from making unauthorized changes. It must also be entered on the secondary account to complete the profile.

This secondary account will remain until the parent decides to end it, or until the child reaches the minimum age set by WhatsApp. For now, this feature is still in the development and testing stages without an official date for its public introduction.
