xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence-focused firm, which also owns social service X, has announced that it has raised a new $20 billion in funding. A number of parties have participated in the investment this time, including Qatar Investment Authority, NVIDIA and Cisco Investments.
xAI says the new funding will drive infrastructure development, while also allowing them to develop AI products that can reach billions of users.
Today, xAI offers a chatbot called Grok through a separate app, as well as integrated through the X platform. It is said to reach around 600 million monthly active users.
This new funding injection comes as X faces problems with its integration of AI photo editing, which is being misused by many to appear with indecent photos. For now, MCMC has not yet taken action against X regarding this.
