Smartphones are now a necessity and no longer seen as a luxury product. Since its launch almost 19 years ago, the iPhone has followed other manufacturers by starting the era of smartphones with touchscreens. According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, by the end of 2025 almost 1 in 4 active smartphones globally will now be an iPhone.
In the same report, the iPhone is the smartphone model with the highest number of active devices worldwide. At the same time, only Apple and Samsung are the manufacturers with more than 1 billion active devices. These two smartphone powerhouses hold 44% of the total global active devices.
Of the world's 10 largest device manufacturers, 8 of them have more than 200 million active devices. Motorola and Realme are now getting closer to entering this exclusive club and it is a little surprising that Transsion has joined it earlier. Furthermore, Transsion through its Itel, TECNO, and Infinix brands has more active devices than Huawei, Honor, Motorola, Realme, and Google.
