Anthropic has launched the latest model of Claude Opus 4.6 which improves on its existing capabilities while adding features that enable it to perform several complex office tasks.
First and foremost is the ability to perform better programming through more careful planning, more stability in large-scale code. It is now also more efficient at detecting and correcting errors made. For the first time, Claude has a context window of up to 1 million tokens.
Opus 4.6 can also perform various daily work tasks such as conducting financial analysis, conducting research and using and creating documents for papers and presentations. Claude can perform these various tasks autonomously in Cowork.
Opus 4.6’s performance is much better at extracting relevant information from large sets of documents. This includes long-context tasks, where it stores and tracks information and detects hidden information that is typically seen in other AI models.
Improvements have also been made to Claude in Excel, and now Claude in PowerPoint can also be used at the research level.
