Yesterday, an update was rolled out to the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold that allows them to send files to iPhones, iPads, and Macs using Apple's AirDrop protocol. This is done through the Quick Share option on the device. At the time, the Pixel 9 series could receive files sent from Apple devices using AirDrop.
This feature was only rolled out to the Pixel 10 series in November last year, with Google confirming that it would also be offered to all Android devices this year. Oddly, the Pixel 9a is not supported, with Google not giving a reason why. The update will be rolling out to all Pixel 9 devices (except the 9a) in phases starting yesterday.
