Last week we reported on Intel introducing the Intel Core Ultra G3 series of processors for mobile game consoles that will be introduced this year, complete with built-in Intel Arc B300 graphics chips, as seen on Intel's Panther Lake processors.
Recently, additional specifications for the processors have been shared, where Intel seems to be asking companies that want to use the processors to pair them with a specific memory chip, namely the LPDDR5X-8533 memory that comes with a speed of 8533MT/s.
This is not too far from the Intel Core Ultra X 300 specifications where Intel sets the use of LPDDR5X memory with a specific minimum specification of 9000MT/s for their laptops. This is seen to be to ensure that brands use quality LPDDR5X memory and maintain the performance of the processors at a level similar to laptops when they are launched later.
The Intel Arc B380, a graphics processing chip that will be introduced via the Intel Core Ultra G3 Extreme chip, is seen to come with the same specifications as the Intel Arc B390, with 12 Xe3 cores built in, but with a speed of 2.3GHz, only 200MHz slower than what is offered on the Intel Arc B390. As for the Intel Arc B360, the processing chip comes with 10 Xe3 cores and will be used on the base Intel Core Ultra G3 chip that will be shown on more affordable gaming consoles.
Initial expectations are that consoles with this processing chip will begin to be introduced to users starting in the second quarter of this year.
