Sony is already famous for its console offerings, the PlayStation. The PlayStation 5 was introduced in 2020, and it has now been 6 years since its launch, leading to various speculations regarding the introduction of the next generation for the console. According to previous reports, the next-generation PlayStation is introduced after around 6 to 7 years after the previous version.
However, for the PlayStation 6 or next-generation PlayStation, it is expected to take longer. According to a Bloomberg report, Sony aims to introduce the next PlayStation around 2028 or 2029.
The main reason for this delay is due to constraints in obtaining memory chips, in addition to the price of memory chips that has increased sharply due to demand for data centers and the use of artificial intelligence.
In the offering of electronic devices themselves, various parties are considering increasing the prices of their products this year due to these memory chips, in addition to some reducing the number of new models.
At the moment, it is not known how long the problem of this shortage of memory chips will occur in the market.
