Spotify is introducing three major improvements to the lyrics function that has become one of the most popular functions in the application.
First, the lyrics translation feature is now available worldwide. By simply pressing the translation icon on the lyrics card, users can see the translation displayed below the original lyrics. This lyrics display will follow the device's default language, but users can switch back to the original lyrics at any time. Interestingly, this feature is offered to all, whether free or Premium users.
In addition, Spotify has also introduced a function that allows lyrics to be automatically saved when a song is downloaded for offline listening. With this feature, lyrics can still be accessed even without an internet connection. This function is being gradually rolled out to Premium users worldwide.
Finally, Spotify comes with a lyric preview that appears directly below the album or short clip while the song is playing. This new layout not only makes the lyrics easier to follow but also helps users return to songs they have previously discovered. More interestingly, users can share favorite lyric lines to social media directly from the 'Now Playing' view.
This lyric preview is available globally for Free and Premium users on iOS, Android devices and tablets. If they don't want to use this feature, it can be easily turned off via the three-dot menu by selecting the 'Lyrics Off' option.
