Substack, one of the services focused on email newsletters, has now confirmed that their service experienced an incident of user data leakage to third parties in October 2025. Substack said that among the data affected were email addresses, as well as phone numbers.
Substack emphasized that data such as credit cards and passwords were not affected by this data leak.
Substack said that they have fixed the problem that led to this data leak, and at the same time have begun an investigation into it. Through an email sent to users, Substack apologized for the incident that occurred and for its failure to protect user data and privacy.
For now, the number of users involved in this data leak is not disclosed.
