The value of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin dropped below $70,000 today, continuing the downward trend of cryptocurrencies since the beginning of 2026. At the time of writing, the value of Bitcoin is around $69,367 (~RM 273,791), which is a drop of almost 9% in 24 hours. In comparison, yesterday it was still worth around $76,000 (~RM 298,000).
The last time Bitcoin was this low was at the end of October 2024. The value of Bitcoin fell after many investors sold their holdings due to concerns about the asset after shares of major global software companies plummeted due to the development of similar features in various AI agent services.
After a strong start and a surge in value in H1 2025, the value of Bitcoin then fell back to a lower level than on January 1, 2025 at the end of the year.
