OpenAI has officially announced the start of a test of displaying ads on ChatGPT, for both free users and those who subscribe to ChatGPT Go. OpenAI says the test will begin in the United States, for users who are already logged into the service.
It says the ads will not affect the answers given through ChatGPT. OpenAI also says advertisers will not be able to see your conversations with ChatGPT. Ads are expected to be matched to the category of a question or conversation, and they will appear at the end of ChatGPT answers.
Users will also be able to control and view the history of ads shown to them via the control page, and also choose to delete advertising-related data.
At the moment, it is not known when the same feature will be expanded to users worldwide. Since the test has started in the United States, it is not impossible that we will see it expanded in the next few months.
