Canva has announced a new feature called Magic Layers that can transform a regular 2D image (in PNG or JPG format) into a file with editable layers. This means that every element in the original image can be edited, deleted, and manipulated as desired by the user.
One of the interesting features of Magic Layers is that if the original image has text, this text can be easily edited in layers as if it were in Photoshop or Illustrator. The Magic Layers feature is powered by Canva's own artificial intelligence model, Design Model.
The Magic Layers feature is currently available in beta to users in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. A global rollout is coming soon.
