The MacBook Neo was launched yesterday as the most affordable MacBook ever offered by Apple, using the A18 Pro chip that previously powered the iPhone 16 Pro. Therefore, many were a little worried that despite its low price, the MacBook Neo might not be powerful enough to be used for everyday tasks.
A day passed and this morning the Geekbench benchmark test for the MacBook Neo appeared on the website. Based on the scores recorded, this laptop is more powerful when compared to a MacBook Air M1. The difference in scores is not very significant but it shows that in five years the chip for the iPhone is now more powerful than the chip for the MacBook.
Below are some more comparisons of the MacBook Neo scores compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, MacBook Air M1, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
