OpenAI is ready to use the strategy of introducing various products and services through ChatGPT before, including e-commerce integration support, the introduction of the Atlas web browser, the Sora video generator, and several other features. Despite having a number of offerings, not all products can be said to be successful. This makes OpenAI to look back at their strategy.
According to initial reports, OpenAI is now said to be making final plans to shift strategy and focus on enterprise users and programming offerings only. This step is seen to have been taken by OpenAI after seeing the success of Anthropic through their products such as Claude Code and CoWork.
Anthropic is seen to focus more on specialized product offerings, and not targeting many general users. To date, Anthropic does not offer features such as image or video generation. This allows them to focus resources on users who will actually pay for their platform.
With this change in strategy and focus, it is unknown whether OpenAI will continue with its plans to introduce its own devices or not. A group of users also appear to be more satisfied with the programming support offered through the latest version of Codex – demonstrating OpenAI's ability to generate profits through this segment.
Regardless, with this development, let's all look forward to OpenAI's next steps in its efforts to generate revenue and continue to remain relevant in the market.
